[Lombok Travel Diary] - A Glimpse of Paradise

Heyho, peeps. It's been a while since my last post. Pardon me for not writing in this space since like 3 months ago. I have tried to be more focused in blogging, but in reality... it's kinda hard to balance between work and blogging LOL.

I wanna tell you about my first experience traveling to Lombok. Big thanks to the office who provided us such an exciting trip. Gonna bomb you with TONS of photos here xD

So, here we go, then?

First stop. Sasak Ende Traditional Village.
Seems that this village is a must visit place when you were in Lombok. This village will show you the traditional houses of Sasak tribe. The Sasak people make up most of Lombok’s population. A few villages in this area do not want to modernize along with the rest of the island. These villages are characterised by their lack of modern technology. Their lifestyle is based on farming and weaving. Largely left alone for some time, these pockets of traditional island life are, however, witnessing increasing visits from local and international tourists.

Second stop. Tanjung Aan Beach.

The beach is facing the Indian Ocean with about 2 km stretched coastline. One thing that you will directly notice when you hit out feet on Tanjung Aan Beach is the sand. Unlike other Lombok beaches, the sand of this beach is like a pepper. Tanjung Aan Beach is surrounded by some hills and you can get easy access to the hills to see Tanjung Aan Beach from the higher level.

At the evening, we were heading to Aruna Senggigi Hotel and rest for the night.

Second Day : Island Hopping!

This is definitely my favorite part of the journey. So today we were going to do island hopping to Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan. "Gili" means island in locals.

Gili Air was personally my favorite Gilis among all three. Gili Meno was too quiet and almost feels like a deserted island lol while Gili Trawangan has been a touristy places thus it was very crowded with foreigners. However, in Gili Trawangan, we managed to found a hidden swing and we took bicycle ride across the island to go to our hotel.

Third Day: Going back to Jakarta

Since it was a brief trip, we only spent 2 nights there. On the third day, we were going back to Jakarta. Ready to embrace the mundane routine and of course... a hell of traffic jam lol. On the flight back home, I managed to get the window seat and successfully captured this beautiful shot:

Accidentally took this at the flight back home~ It was the three gilis that I have visited before!

Overall, it was a very nice experience for me. Even though it was very short but somehow I feel like I saw a glimpse of paradise in Lombok. Definitely would come back again, someday~
